Specific Results

• Increase student, parent and teacher access to library resources
• A Communications Advisory team will be formed
• Each school will provide home visits or parent-teacher conferences, per child, prior to the start of school
• Create school specific calendars which include district dates
• Utilize an automated phone system for communications at the school and district level
• Student information systems will be made available for parent, student and teacher access via the Internet
• Create and maintain a web page for Boyle County Schools
• Display boards with interchangeable capabilities will be developed to promote classroom activities, student, teacher and/or classroom recognition
• A resource list of community members/leaders who can serve as guest speakers will be developed
• Create opportunities by which student achievements/activities can be broadcasted and/or published
• All incoming freshman will use a laptop computer, issued by the school system, for completion class/homework assignments
• Content specific software shall be utilized on a consistent basis throughout the district
• Teachers shall be given opportunities for technology professional development that is meaningful to their current position
• A technology resource teacher will work with teachers in integrating technology into the curriculum

• Design and implement a communication plan to inform all stakeholders of the types of assessments given, the assessment calendar as well as student’s/school’s/district’s progress
• Implement and on-going system to monitor student progress
• Design multiple assessments to provide meaningful feedback on student learning for instructional purposes

• Engage students in individual goal setting and student led conferences so that students will have ownership and be able to monitor own progress

• Examine the current A/A (Advisor/Advisee) system in the high school to determine its effectiveness and how it can be improved
• Create a class scheduling system the middle and high schools that involves students and their families and that encourages and enables them to take the most challenging courses for their abilities and future plans.
• Maximize the course offerings/curriculum at all Boyle County Schools to let students work at the highest level possible
• Improve communication between schools and members of the community to involve parents and others to make them aware of the culture of high expectations increase community involvement with the effort
• Create an Academic Booster Club in each school to encourage and support high achievement
• Establish a multi-faceted mentoring program in Boyle County schools to help students achieve at their highest level possible
• Increase the opportunities to recognize and encourage high academic achievement by students in Boyle County Schools
• Create a program to educate students, parents and the community about the role of standardized test and the importance of students performing well on them

• To work to change existing laws that will allow for a broader use of existing state funds

• Boyle County Schools will provide a healthy nutritional environment for students and staff

• Boyle County Schools will maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive Emergency Management System for staff, students, and parents
• All students will learn comprehensive safety lessons (grades Pre-12)
• Boyle County Schools will implement a district-wide proactive discipline initiative
• Boyle County Schools will provide a continuum of educational options to students who are unsuccessful within the traditional educational setting
• Boyle County Schools will insure that students and staff have access to mental health services (prevention and intervention)
• All students will learn age-appropriate social-emotional skills (Pre-12)
• Boyle County School employees and students will be educated about the many types of diversity
• Boyle County Schools will provide health services to staff and students
• Boyle County Schools students will participate in extended school programs designed to provide them with additional social emotional support
• Boyle County Schools will work internally and in tandem with community agencies and families to systematically and comprehensively provide an array of services and resources designed to remove barriers to learning
