Technology Program of the Year- 2007 |
In the Spring of 2007, the Kentucky Applied Technology Education Association awarded Boyle County High School with the Program of the Year in Technology Education. Boyle County High School is unique in that it is home to a lab filled with cutting edge technology and opportunities. Mr. Spoonamore feels that “the bottom line for any educator is to prepare students for today’s highly technical world
with a background of technology that is essential. The competition
for education or employment our students will see will be intense." He takes pride in the accomplishments of his students. He conveyed the uniqueness of the award by saying, “It’s an honor to be nominated by my peers, the people who do this for a living.”
The Boyle County Board of Education, federal grants, and the support of local businesses made the lab possible. Signs mounted on the walls of the lab recognize the companies that funded the lab. Spoonamore summed it up best when he said, “We’re all here for the students." |
