Congratulations to the following recipients of T.E.A.C.H. grants. These grants were provided by the Boyle County Education Endowment fund. Applicants were judged on the basis of content that related to the Arts and Humanities curriculum. |

Boyle County High School students will participate in a mult-genre project to better personally connect to historical periods through research. Ms. Brewer will utilize a digital document camera to present examples to whole classes. It will also allow for the digital storage of items. |

Live from the Hard Work Cafe |

Students at Perryville Elementary regualarly participate in the Hard Work Cafe. This is a reward place where students can relax, have fun and eat with their friends. To add an additional twist to the program, Ms. Gardner will start a TV production to broadcast out to the rest of the school. The grant provides funds so that they may purchase as Cannon HD Camcorder. |

Students will be using the arts to "REvitalize, REnew, REcycle and REclaim". Youth will take on the task of reclaiming large furniture, sculpture, wall art and rugs out of recycled materials with the guidance of the Community Arts Staff. |

Picture Science and Art in a Whole New Way! |

5th Grade students at Junciton City Elementary will take a field trip to the Lexington Living Arts and Science Center. While there the students will take pictures with digital cameras. Afterwards the students will compile the pictures into a collage. The monies form this grant will be applied towards admission and transportation. |

Submitted by Missy Pittman, Amanda Godbey and Lisa Brown Kindergarten students from Junction City Elementary will take a field trip to Lexington Children's Theater where they will see If You Give a Pig a Pancake. The teachers will provide real world connections before and after the play as well (making pancakes in the classroom). Each student will also receive a copy of the book. |

Arts & Humanities Watercolor Workshop |
Submitted by Blossom Brosi. Students at Boyle County High School will participate in a watercolor workshop. Local artist Jim Underwood will lead this seminar. Mr. Underwood will also demonstrate some techniques for the students to try. Students will then work on his/her own projects over the course of a few days. The work will be showcased in the library. Monies from this grant will help pay for artist fees and materials. |

Voices: Writing & Reaching an Audience Through Technology |

7th grade students at Boyle County Middle School will write personal papers (as they did with past portfolio requirements) and then target the key moment to create a digital story. Using podcasting kits, students will publish their works as digital projects. Monies from the grant will puchase USB microphones and podcasting kits. |

Students at Woodlawn Elementary will be visited by the Lexington Children's Theatre Tour Company. There will be two plays presented: Hans Christian Anderson's, The Fisherman and His Wife and The Red Badge of Courage. The monies from this grant will pay for tickets. |
