Executive Summary
March 23, 2007

Dear Strategic Plan Team,

Thank you for the opportunity to help in the development of plans for Boyle County School System. Our strategy is stated as follows: Improve curriculum at all levels and develop and implement programs to improve student engagement and learning in a safe secure environment.

Our team met on three occasions with numerous email exchanges in between. We began with an analysis of our strategy - brainstorming all possible ideas, information gathering, writing action statements, cost benefit analysis and then review and reviewing numerous statements and ideas.

Our recommendations are very simple- that curriculum documents will be aligned vertically and horizontally K-12, exit criteria be developed K-8, and student engagement structures be implemented K-12.

Sincerely,

Phyllis Pelly – Action Team Leader
Patricia Putty – Boyle County Assistant Superintendent
Jennifer Brogle – Boyle County High School Assistant Principal
Heather Wheeler – Boyle County High School Spanish Teacher
Brenda Hendrickson – Junction City Elementary School Reading Teacher
Renee’ Yates – Junction City Elementary School Curriculum Resource Teacher
Beth Leahey – Parent
Natalie Orms – Boyle County High School Student
